How Town Government Works

Local leadership and everyday services

The Town of Milford is governed by an elected Town Board made up of the Town Supervisor and four Council Members. The Board adopts the annual budget, passes local laws, approves contracts, oversees Town departments and makes policy decisions affecting residents throughout the township.

The Town Clerk serves as the Town's records and licensing center. In addition to maintaining official records, the Clerk acts as Registrar of Vital Statistics and helps residents with licenses, certified records, public information requests and other municipal services.

Town versus Village: This page covers the Town of Milford government. The incorporated Village of Milford has its own Mayor, Trustees, Clerk and Village services. Residents inside Village limits may interact with both governments depending on the issue.
